Bio
Alex Walsh is one of the most versatile, dominant, and decorated athletes in the modern history of competitive swimming. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Alex emerged as an age-group prodigy, setting National Age Group records as early as 12 years old before helping spearhead a historic era at the Harpeth Hall School.
Alex continued her career at the University of Virginia, where she became a cornerstone of the Cavaliers’ legendary NCAA dynasty. Across her highly decorated collegiate career, she earned 29 NCAA medals, including an astonishing 23 gold medals, and helped guide the UVA women to five consecutive NCAA Team Championships. Her individual NCAA titles spanned the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 Butterfly, highlighting her remarkable technical command of all four competitive strokes.
Her versatility translated seamlessly to the international stage. Alex earned an Olympic silver medal in the 200-meter Individual Medley at the Tokyo Games, finishing alongside teammate Kate Douglass in a thrilling final. She went on to become a multi-time World Champion in both long-course and short-course competition, a three-time Pan American Games gold medalist, and a consistent presence on international podiums, including a silver-medal performance at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships.
Highly analytical and deeply committed to her craft, Alex also earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia. She brings athletes an unmatched understanding of stroke versatility, pacing, race strategy, and technical mechanics, helping swimmers recognize how small, intentional adjustments can create major improvements in performance.
