Benjamin (Ben) Kimmel is a standout Division I backstroke and individual medley specialist who competed for Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Hailing from Roselle, Illinois, Ben developed his foundational speed and versatility with the Academy Bullets Swim Club and Lake Park High School, where he established himself as a premier, well-rounded recruit in the state.

 

Taking his talents to the Horizon League, Ben became an instrumental part of the IUPUI Jaguars’ success. Over his collegiate career, he developed into a highly consistent scorer at the Horizon League Championships, securing top finishes in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, and 200 IM. His elite performance in the pool earned him a spot at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, where he competed against some of the top swimmers in the country. Known for his technical proficiency in the backstroke and his versatility across the IM and freestyle events, Ben brings a strong understanding of high-level race execution, stroke mechanics, and the daily dedication required to succeed as an elite Division I student-athlete.
