UK School Record Holder | U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier | Elite Club Coach
Hometown: York, Pennsylvania
College: University of Kentucky (UK)
Brandon Flynn is an NCAA Division I standout, U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier, and highly accomplished competitive swim coach. Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Brandon was an age-group phenom for the historic York YMCA. A latecomer to elite club swimming, he opted to take a gap year after graduating from Dallastown High School, a decision that yielded massive time drops and culminated in multiple YMCA National Championship titles across the 500 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, and 400 IM.
He took his elite endurance and IM talents to the collegiate stage to compete for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. During his highly successful career in Lexington, Brandon broke the UK school record in the 400 Individual Medley as a sophomore with a blazing 3:44.99. A two-time NCAA Championship qualifier and consistent SEC finalist, he also excelled academically, earning SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll recognition.
Following his elite athletic career, Brandon transitioned his world-class racing IQ to the pool deck. Bringing his extensive background in high-level aerobic training and technical stroke development, he has coached for nationally renowned club programs, including the North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC) and the York YMCA. He also serves as the Head Coach for the Central York School District varsity swimming program. Having trained under and worked alongside some of the best coaching minds in the country, Brandon brings an exceptional, analytically driven understanding of race strategy, distance pacing, and individual medley transitions to his athletes.
