Bio

Cullen Jones is a four-time Olympic medalist, a former world record holder, and one of the most impactful trailblazers in the history of American swimming. Raised in Irvington, New Jersey, Cullen’s journey into the sport began after a near-drowning incident at a water park at age five. That frightening experience prompted his mother to enroll him in swim lessons.

He went on to build a standout collegiate career at North Carolina State University, becoming an NCAA Champion in the 50 Freestyle, a four-time ACC Champion, and the 2006 ACC Swimmer of the Year. His success established him as one of the most explosive and dynamic sprinters in the nation.

On the global stage, Cullen cemented his legacy at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, swimming the critical third leg of the historic 4x100m freestyle relay that captured Gold and shattered the world record. Four years later at the 2012 London Games, he won individual Silver in the 50m freestyle, along with another Gold and Silver in the relays.

Beyond his accomplishments in the water, Cullen is a dedicated advocate for water safety and diversity in swimming. Through his work with the USA Swimming Foundation’s “Make a Splash” initiative, he has inspired thousands of children nationwide and helped more families understand the importance of learning to swim.

Cullen brings world-class sprint technique, a championship mindset, and an inspiring perspective to his work with swimmers. His experience gives swimmers the opportunity to learn from an Olympic champion who understands both the details of fast swimming and the confidence it takes to succeed.
