Destin Lasco brings a unique, holistic perspective on what it takes to achieve excellence both in and out of the pool. Swimmers and parents aren’t just learning from a Team USA World Championship medalist and American Record Holder; they are learning from a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a CSCAA Scholar All-American.
This dual experience is at the core of Destin’s teaching philosophy. He offers a comprehensive roadmap for success, demonstrating elite-level technique, race strategy, and training habits, while just as importantly, mentoring swimmers on the “all-around” skills required for long-term success.
Swimming at Cal Berkeley, Destin honed his skills alongside some of the best athletes in the world. This experience opened his eyes to the dedication required to win in the pool, in the classroom, and in life.
At his clinics, Destin passes down the knowledge he has gained in training, nutrition, and recovery. He also emphasizes mental strategy, teaching young athletes about mental toughness, visualization, and the importance of enjoying the process. By actively listening to and connecting with athletes, Destin builds strong relationships that enable swimmers to learn, thrive, and absorb knowledge effectively.
