Bio
Kaelyn Gridley is a 2025 USA Swimming National Team member, a two-time U.S. Olympic Team Trials Finalist, and one of the premier breaststrokers in the country. Hailing from Wilmette, Illinois, Kaelyn initially joined her local club team following in the footsteps of her older brothers. A reserved age-group swimmer who wasn’t necessarily the fastest kid in the pool, she found her confidence in the water thanks to coaches who saw her potential before she fully believed in herself.
Kaelyn carried that growing confidence and work ethic to Duke University, where she flourished under Head Coach Brian Barnes. At Duke, she established herself as a cornerstone of the Blue Devils program, capturing the ACC Championship title in the 100 breaststroke and earning six NCAA All-American honors.
On the national stage, Kaelyn reached the finals at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials twice, gaining valuable experience competing under pressure against some of the country’s best swimmers. Now recently removed from collegiate competition, she brings a fresh and highly relatable perspective to the swimmers she works with. Kaelyn understands what it feels like to work through challenging technical concepts and excels at breaking down elite-level technique, including core engagement and body awareness, into tangible drills and skills young athletes can apply in their own swimming.
